TERMSOFSERVICE:About
TERMSOFSERVICE is a comic in the format of an object show. Or an object show in the format of a comic, depending on how you look at it.
Petrichor National Park was a relatively peaceful place- once a protected piece of land, now left abandoned and not-quite-legally inhabited by settlers from all over the world living in small outposts. Outpost 11-J happens to be home to about 30-or-so of these inhabitants. Though, after years of peace, a strange capsule falls from the sky, and about a week later, it pries itself open to reveal an unforgiving personified computer virus god. Limited as to what it can do by its lines of code, it has one objective; host an episodic, elimination-based gameshow until there's one sole victor. Watch as these colleagues-turned-contestants form teams, complete challenges, strategize.. and get eliminated, through votes submitted by you, the viewer.
Who will be the victor in this remorseless competition? Let's hope the collective viewers decide on a good pick.
Account Policy
If you make an account on this wiki, chances are, it will be blocked. This is to make managing the important accounts (aka those who belong to people actually working on the comic) easier. Having a bunch of strangers' accounts on the wiki doesn't really do anything to help us, and in case something with account permissions ever gets messed up, it's helpful to have most accounts blocked so that they can't edit pages.
New accounts are blocked at the end of each month; if you wish to keep your account unblocked, then please fill out this form; https://forms.gle/9XFCfVydrmVZq4VF6
Typically, you'll need a pretty good reason to keep your account unblocked.
Ideal Reading Experience
If you're reading TERMSOFSERVICE on a Windows device, this guide is for you. This won't work on Macintosh devices or tablets of any sort. It also isn't for everyone- just those who really care about getting the best reading experience.
This comic is presented with the assumption that you're reading on a 1920x1080 screen. The site will largely work on screen sizes larger (or smaller), but some things will break.
If you have your scale set to 100%- both the Windows menus itself and the webpage zoom, things should appear to be pixel-perfect. AKA no upscaling or downscaling making things blurry. If things appear blurry at all, try adjusting your page zoom.
..but what about the text? That's still got anti-aliasing. Well, there's actually a hidden setting for that on most, if not all Windows devices.
If you're on Windows, press Win+R, type in SystemPropertiesPerformance.exe and press enter, then find the "Disable smooth edges of screen fonts" option and toggle it off. Note that this will effect every app on your computer, including the operating system itself. It's not dangerous, but it can be annoying to re-enable if you want text anti-aliasing back.
Also, this comic is primarily tested on Google Chrome. If something breaks on say, Firefox, or any other web browser, you're free to report it to any of the people who work on the website, but there's no guarantee we can fix it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What software is used to make TERMSOFSERVICE?

- MS Paint (Windows 10): Character Art, Concept Art
- Paint.net (5.0.11): Special Effects, Filters, Dithering
- MediaWiki / Miraheze: Website, CSS (Go thank the people over at WikiTide/WikiForge/Miraheze!)

Q: Am I allowed to make TERMSOFSERVICE Fan content?
A: Of course, as long as it's nothing morally irresponsible.
Q: Am I allowed to sell TERMSOFSERVICE merchandise?
A: As long as you're not mass-producing it on a site like Redbubble, and link back to the comic's Main Page, then yes.
Q: Am I allowed to start a TERMSOFSERVICE wiki?
A: Please don't. While this website's main purpose is reading the comic, the majority of pages are character wiki pages. These pages are sometimes left intentionally vague; you are allowed to compile any extra information you find on characters, but you are heavily discouraged from making wiki pages for them.
If you want to make fan-made wiki pages, FANDOM is extremely discouraged. FANDOM tends to exploit search engine optimization to push any other wikis out of search results entirely; which would mean this comic would be infinitely less discoverable. If you find a TERMSOFSERVICE wiki on FANDOM, do not go anywhere near it.
...if you absolutely have to make a fan-wiki, why not try this website, Miraheze? It's free. There's no ads. Ever.
Q: Speaking of ads, will this site ever have any?
A: No. The closest thing you'll ever see to an advertisement is probably a link to support the people making the comic and a link to the comic's official redbubble page, and a ""banner ad"" on the main page for if we ever do something like Makeship which requires signatures. To be clear, things such as voting on episodes will have similar banners on the main page, and there'll be an option to hide them. This option will be per-device.
Speaking of the Redbubble page, quickly, I'd like to say that for everyone's sake, everything on the Redbubble page is priced as low as the site lets me. This means that 0% of the money you spend on that merch goes to anyone on the team; but seeing people being able to just have physical merchandise at all is already enough. If you want to support us, we'll have a ko-fi eventually.
Q: Are those Battery and VHSy from TPOT?
A: Yes. The person who made this comic recommended them. Their depictions in TERMSOFSERVICE aren't canon to BFDI, but I have made the effort to take reference from their appearances in TPOT. Things from Battery having smaller limbs because of a scribble of them from TPOT 1, or VHSy's personality being based off their appearance in a patron-exclusive wallpaper. It's meant to give and borrow at the same time.
Note that their appearances in TERMSOFSERVICE are not canon to Battle For Dream Island. But they're generally how I envision them acting.
